Andrew Montecillo and Kristine Vigilla tied the knot last Saturday, June 1, at five in the afternoon, in a garden wedding ceremony held at HillCreek Gardens in Alfonso, Cavite. The wedding was officiated by Pastor Rene Maramara of Sovereign Grace Church who exhorted  the couple and the guests that God lends His image in a marriage relationship. It follows that married couples should reflect that image in dealing with each other. Jonathan David Lasco read the Scripture while Pastor Rodel ended the ceremony with a word of prayer. Pastor Ferdie prayed for the food in the reception.  The entire Montecillo family were there, together with baby Naomi.

TBC women  gave Tin Tin, the bride-to-be of Andrew Montecillo, a  well-wishers’ shower  on May 26 . Mylene gave the opening prayer for the program.  For the first part, the women  introduced themselves to Tin.  Tin likewise gave a short talk about herself. It was followed by the giving of  symbolic gifts of house cleaning items, where each  was paired with an exhortation about married life.  An object lesson about a pie was given by  Haydee, comparing it to marriage. Janet also sang “ O Perfect Love”.  After a series of exhortation from the married women, the program ended with prayers by Ningning, Nina and Mare. The program also…

Triple Treat

TBC’s  annual  outing was held  last Saturday (May 25) at Cresta Monte Resort – TBC’s favorite resort. Almost all members came, even Paolo and Anne with two-month old Naomi. The first activity was the monthly prayer meeting, led by Pastor Rodel. It was followed by the highlight of the day – the baptism of mother and daughter – Nanay Delma and Mhay,  and the couple – Rodel and Rhua. It was a shower of blessing, a wonderful harvest of four souls who committed themselves to follow the Lord.

A Prayer Group For TBC children

photo (11)
TBC holds prayer meetings every 2:30 pm every Sunday. After the congregational prayer – from 2:30-3:15 – the members then proceed to their respective prayer and fellowship groups for personal sharing of thanksgiving and requests. There are groups for mothers, single women, single men, and husbands – but none for children. Children merely play, talk with each other or read books.
But something good happened Last Sunday (May 12). While the members were in their prayer groups, the children were not left out anymore. Thanks to TBC women who decided that children should be given attention, to make use of the otherwise idle moment. TBC women will take turns in…

Last Sunday (May 12), after the vesper service, Nanay Delma, Mhay and Vera, each, faced the TBC congregation for an interview for church membership. After two long hours of interview and deliberation, all of them were unanimously accepted for membership. Nanay Delma and Mhay will be baptized on May 25, which will coincide with TBC outing. Vera, on the other hand, merely transferred to TBC and will not be baptized anymore. The two-hour interview shows that TBC is very careful in accepting only those who have notable signs of conversion.
Welcome Nanay Delma, Mhay and Vera to your TBC family! May you grow more in the faith and be fruitful…

A Very Special Mother’s Day Treat

In celebration of Mother’s Day (the 2nd Sunday of May) TBC husbands gave a heartwarming surprise to the mothers by singing the song, “Happy the home, when God is there.” Deacon Arnold and Pastor Rodel gave a small talk of appreciation for the sacrifices and affection mothers give to their families. The perceptive husbands knew that mothers also love flowers, so each of them gave to their lovely wives a beautiful red rose to complete the treat.
Not to be outdone, the wives pulled out a dessert somewhere and everyone had a simple, but joyful celebration of Mother’s Day— TBC style.

A Church for Czarina

0
When Czarina left for New Zealand last April 29, TBC was not certain if there is a reformed Baptist church in her residence. Barely a few days after her arrival, Czarina texted Pastor Rodel, requesting him to check out Emmanuel Church in Auckland. Soon Pastor Rodel and Pastor David Yan, the pastor of the church, were communicating with each other regarding Czarina.
Czarina attended her first worship service in Emmanuel Church last Sunday, May 5.  She said that almost all church members are Asians and relating with them  is not a problem. She, however, is the only Filipino. They also have potluck luncheon fellowship just like in TBC . In her latest letter, Czarina said …
