In celebration of Mother’s Day (the 2nd Sunday of May) TBC husbands gave a heartwarming surprise to the mothers by singing the song, “Happy the home, when God is there.” Deacon Arnold and Pastor Rodel gave a small talk of appreciation for the sacrifices and affection mothers give to their families. The perceptive husbands knew that mothers also love flowers, so each of them gave to their lovely wives a beautiful red rose to complete the treat.
Not to be outdone, the wives pulled out a dessert somewhere and everyone had a simple, but joyful celebration of Mother’s Day— TBC style.

A Church for Czarina

0
When Czarina left for New Zealand last April 29, TBC was not certain if there is a reformed Baptist church in her residence. Barely a few days after her arrival, Czarina texted Pastor Rodel, requesting him to check out Emmanuel Church in Auckland. Soon Pastor Rodel and Pastor David Yan, the pastor of the church, were communicating with each other regarding Czarina.
Czarina attended her first worship service in Emmanuel Church last Sunday, May 5.  She said that almost all church members are Asians and relating with them  is not a problem. She, however, is the only Filipino. They also have potluck luncheon fellowship just like in TBC . In her latest letter, Czarina said …

What flowers can do

0

How lovely to see  fresh blooms on the piano, every Lord’s Day in TBC.  Thanks to the ministry of sisters Nel, Nina and Ning. Last Sunday (May 5), after the Lord’s Supper, the three flower arrangements they brought were so nice to let go, that those with camera took pictures of them.  Later, two sisters grouped the three arrangements together on a table, and requested that their pictures be taken. Soon, mothers, singles, youth, children and couples took turns to have their pictures taken as well. Flowers not only brighten a room,  they also create a different kind  of fellowship opportunity for TBC members.

The Lord’s Supper Table

People with an eye for beauty can’t stand dull, old, plain-looking  plates and wine holder, especially if they are to be used for the Lord’s Supper.  Thanks to TBC’s lovely couple, Nor and Ningning Buno, who took upon themselves the ministry of beautifying the Lord’s Supper table, bread container,  glasses and all. It was a big upgrade from the usual (as can be seen from this picture). It also shows how anybody can contribute to the work of the Lord by just looking around for some things to improve.

Czarina  became a member of TBC barely a month ago. She was interviewed for church membership and was baptized (in Community of Faith Church in City Subdivision) on the same day,  April 1, 2013 which allowed her to join the Lord’s Supper that afternoon.   The deacons and elders decided to accept Czarina for membership even for a short period so as to ensure that she  will be in  the protection and guidance of the church, while looking for a church in NZ. Czarina will be employed as a nurse in a hospital in NZ. Her husband Gabby will follow after three months.
The short period…

TBC welcomes Five Applicants for Membership for April

0
Mhay, Nanay Delma and Vera,  were interviewed for church membership by elders and preachers of TBC on April 22.  Their testimonies can now be read in  TBC’s bulletin board. Nanay Delma and Mhay are the mother and sister of Dennis Enriquez respectively. He invited them to attend worship services since 2005. Pastor Ferdie spent almost a year of Bible study with them. Vera, however was a former member of an evangelical church and started to attend TBC upon learning the Doctrines of Grace.
Rodel and Rhua (who  belong to a group that TBC members fondly call “Candelaria Brethren”),  were  interviewed on April 28.  The Lord is indeed blessing TBC and rewarding the diligence of bible study leaders.

The prayer fellowship of TBC women was made lovelier by the presence of Naomi the first baby of Paolo and Marane Monticillo. After months of bed rest and recuperation from Caesarian operation, Marane finally joined the church in worship and fellowship. She said she has a lot to thank God for. We are blessed to see her beaming with joy. She was tried but came out of it stronger and happier. God is good indeed. Welcome Naomi to your TBC family.
